Saw these Jordan 1 zooms yesterday on an auth and was immediately transported back to the early 90’s…
Not that these are an old release or anything, but it reminded me of the way some dudes used to rock their shoes where I grew up. This used to be the preferred method of tying your shoes when and where I was a kid. Somewhere around my time in the UK, that changed for me, tho (1994).
One time, one of my friends from California came out to visit me in Brooklyn and we went sneaker shopping with one of my New York homies…my Cali dude was trying on some AF1’s and looks over at me and NY dude for our opinions…NY dude looks at me and says ‘help ya boy, Jay’…I walk over to Cali dude and say ‘man you are choking the 💩 out of your feet’. I bent down and started loosening the laces on his AF1’s and my NY dude was chuckling and that was that…I NEVER saw dude choke his feet after that.
I really don’t see this style much any more…it’s such a simple and subtle change that most people realize is not really necessary…my kid did it as a joke the other day and I was concerned for a brief second before realizing he was messing with me..but to you youngsters out there…people used to really do this and if you’ve never seen it YOU REALLY WASN’T OUTSIDE!
