Kinda fun to read all of comments and think pieces regarding that Wu Tang dunk ad floating around…and of course the UNDFTD Jordan 4 news…and…the HUF AM1 rerelease…and maybe the Terror Squad AF1 rerelease…or…what about the DQM release from like 3 years back?
What about releasing OG colorways of shoes? Or the first time they retroed AJ1’s in 94?
It’s funny because with some pairs I’m like ‘YESSSSSS!!!!!’ (Like my all-time favorite the DQM 90’s) and other times I’m just like ‘meh’ (like almost every non-Air Max on this page)…
In other collectibles worlds..,they do this all the time. They rerelease things so that newer generations can pay the proper respects to seminal moments in the past…and OGs can also relive those days without worry of destroying their ‘investment’…
Personally, I like the idea, i don’t need anyone to tell me what is sacred - I can make that determination for myself. Overall, and think it’s going to force us to choose which route we are going to go with some of these shoes…
For example…I still have my OG DQM 90’s cracked and crumbling in a Grail box. And I have a retroed pair of ‘Bacon’ 90’s that I (can) wear on a day to day. I ain’t planning on selling the OGs but I know what they mean to me and that’s the key…right? RIGHT?
As far as I’m concerned, the OG wu dunk and the Undftd 4 may not as well even exist…I don’t care to cop but I will if the price is right. I’m glad they’re digging in their bag…
