Sitting in a baseball field the other day (for my kids practice) some 9 year old came up to me and said ‘nice shoes’.
It’s one thing for a grown up to say something to another grown up, but when the kids are commenting on my 44 year old style choices, I feel like a superhero. When I was a 9 year old there wasn’t any 44 year old I was complimenting 😂
So yea, sitting there I looked down, noticed the Chinese characters and thought…now what in the hell does that mean?
It was a thing, before, when something ended up on a shoe and you had no idea what it was…so you’d ask someone and they’d tell you what they heard and a lot of this stuff became like urban legends…
But with the power of my cellphone and gooble image search and gooble translate…I had my answer in seconds. ‘War’.
‘War’. wtf does ‘war’ have to do with this shoe? The way they fit and feel they remind me of…I dunno…ninja shoes? Definitely not ‘war’. Maybe a sneak attack or something…but…war?
I wouldn’t say I’m too lazy to gooble the background on these sneakers and this story, but sometimes…I’d prefer to revel in the mystery.
Copped these for $20 or $25 the other day at the flea and they’re very minimalist and great as beaters. Not so sure about ‘war’ tho.
