The assignment:
Ask a completely unanswerable question about a popular topic and answer it yourself with something that is completely arbitrary. You’ll get feathers ruffled and people will feel compelled to speak out and try to sway others’ opinions.
The ruse:
You care.
The truth:
You don’t.
The point:
Engagement.

This is an impossible question with a not definitive answer. Just like any GOAT conversation…there really is no universal GOAT. Even for something as simple as… ‘Steph Curry really is the 🐐’ there’s no way to override personal opinions on the topic nor is there any way to even define the metrics with which to measure said statement by. So, we all end up arguing semantics against personal valuation…and…what good is that?
It’s good for discussion. And discussion is good for engagement. And engagement is $$$
I can see why Complex chose the Tiffany Dunk, and their reasoning makes sense, but the Tiffany dunk wouldn’t even be in my personal top 50…so…opinions really do be like buttholes cuz everyone’s got one.
I was personally faced with a decision - to camp out on the sidewalk in January in New York - but I declined. And I still ended up with a pair. So my top SB would likely be that @jeffstaple pigeon dunk…and that’s because that was I could actually SEE the potential behind the concept. Maybe that’s what the Tiff represents for complex; the actualization of the potential. IMO, pigeon colorway is a bit overdone at this point so I wouldn’t expect anyone to understand how dope it was upon release, but trust me, it was dope.
In any case…these questions make you think. Anyone can bash an opinion, it takes real intelligence to form one…what would be your feather ruffling take?
