Ok, so, even though I’ve been selling sneakers on @ebay for more than 20 years now, I feel like a noob when it comes to some of these bullsh*t policies they change year over year.
Long story not-so-short (in bullet points):
- I sell this dude a BEAUTIFUL pair of Mizuno Wave Prophecy’s…on or around March 30th.
- He’s located in Portugal. He selects eBay Standard International Delivery.
- I ship the shoes via @eBay Standard International Delivery on March 31st.
- The shoes bounce around a bit and end up in Portugal on April 12th.
- Where it shows that Customs has the shoes in their possession. And then tracking ends.
- Dude hits me up, asks me for a refund.
- I ask ‘why?’
- He tells me that he went to the customs department, they tried to give him the shoes, but he refused to pay the customs fees.
- Huh?
- Now…these shoes haven’t been scanned ANYWHERE since April 12th. I have no idea where they are.
- So I contact eBay. eBay tells me I need to open a case with USPS.
- Huh?
- I SHIPPED THE SHOES VIA EBAY STANDARD DELIVERY.
- 3 days later, I get a message from someone at eBay, telling me ‘the seller is responsible for the delivery of the item from start to finish - including delivery and any damages in transit.’
- How am I supposed to be responsible for the delivery of the item when the item made it to the buyer but the buyer decided to reject it?
Can anybody at @ebay or @ebaysneakers or @ebaycollectibles tell me exactly how or why I should be held responsible for anything that happened AFTER I PAID eBAY to handle it? I paid eBAY for a service and gave them the merchandise, shouldn’t it be on them to fulfill the service or return the merchandise?
Can anyone tell me why it seems these corporations only recourse - whenever there is an issue - is to simply sh*t on the sellers?
Man…sometimes with these eBay policies…I feel like I’m taking CRAZY PILLS.
