The original owner (wearer) of these shoes played basketball in them and wore them while deployed in Vietnam in the 60s. Once he returned from the war, he stuffed them in his army gym bag, where they sat for close to 50 years in an attic before they were found and posted on Reddit (where I found them)

After several prototypes, I finalized a preservation case that I seemed worthy for shoes like this. Finally - a box classy enough to sit on someone's mantle without getting yellowed and brittle while simultaneously protecting the shoes from the elements.

Once I found the box, I had another problem - I had to find a glue for the soles (so they wouldn't bang around during shipping). These were glued to the box (although a bit sloppily), to ensure they wouldn't damage during shipping. From the bottom, it's not great, but from the sides - the presentation came out nicely imo. ...
