Does anyone else wonder when enough will be enough? Like...is there a point that this is going to reach some sort of critical mass and just fall apart?

I swear I’ve been waiting for the sneaker market to ‘crash’ for like 10 years and all it does is seem to grow...it just gets bigger and bigger and things get more and more hyped and things cost more and more and...it’s like...is this ever going to end?

11 years ago, I sold my Pigeon Dunks for less than $1k because I thought the price was going to crash. 17 years ago, I sold 20 pairs of Carhartt SBs for about $80/each. 10 years ago, I sold my Paris Dunks for $1.4k because I heard they were going to retro them. If I kept those and sold them all today, I’d be able to buy a really nice car (or put a down payment on a house). I understand that’s the nature of collecting things - you forego one thing to capitalize on another. But...sh!t...who saw this coming?

That brings up these Mocha 1’s. Obviously resembling a more conservative version of the Travis Scott 1’s...but who predicted every single pair of Jordan 1’s released every other weekend would sell out and hit double or triple retail within hours? Remember - this is a THIRTY FIVE YEAR OLD SHOE and people are still losing their minds over this stuff. Remember - Jordan Brand is releasing upwards of 175 different retros a year (that’s one every TWO days!).

If history can tell us anything, it can tell us that this can’t last. It just can’t. Or...can it? At what point are we going to see the market level itself out? At what point are we going to see things start to slow down?
