Multiple times a day I get legit check requests and although I want to help, I often can’t. I’ve got a couple of young boys and a business and a wife and all of things pull me in a million different directions and the very fact that I’m able to create a post nearly every single day is pretty gargantuan in my eyes. I don’t like ignoring folks and I don’t really do it intentionally, it’s just I don’t live on my phone and usually have more pressing things in front of my face.

That being said - if you wanna jump in my discord - link is in bio. I’m trying to build it as a community of legit-checkers, graders, and (eventually) a marketplace for people to get down with sneakers without having to play the game of keeping up appearances...ideally, it’d lead to a whole eco-system of people getting micropayments for their knowledge and opinions without being afraid to give it freely in an honest and transparent way.

Yesterday someone asked me how I felt about StockX and I wanted to clarify - I don’t hate any of these apps. I don’t hate anyone that works for any of these apps. I don’t hate anyone that uses these apps. I just don’t really use them myself. I found what I believe to be the flaws in the system that they push and choose not to participate if I can help it. It might sound like I’m being negative - I don’t think it does - I really feel I’m trying to help others understand where things can (and often do) go wrong. Part of being a teacher - you’re supposed to present the information and let people do what they can with it. That’s how I look at what I’m trying to do here: present the information and let you all make your own decisions.

That being said - for LEGIT CHECKS - I’ve shared this trick before and I’ll share it again: @GOAT has an incredible resource that is free to use. They require photos for every pair of ‘USED’ or ‘NEW WITH DEFECTS’ shoes on their marketplace. That means, if I ever need to compare anything (which I often do), I have a million pairs at my fingertips on GOAT. I most often look at the size tags and compare the fonts, the spacing, the weight, etc.
