Saw this on the @twitter machine the other day... 
 
The first time someone told me about NFTs...about 3 years ago...it was in regards to an independent musician..the way it was explained to me made perfect sense - bypass the labels and go straight to your own publishing. Dope. I just couldn’t see it taking off anywhere without any kind of promotion or star power behind it. I didn’t think much of it after that.  
 
About 6 months ago, one of my friends approached me with the idea of putting the cards on the blockchain. At first, I was kind of confused...and didn’t totally get it. But this is a dude who’s opinion I hold in a VERY high regard. So I didn’t really dismiss it, I just put it on the backburner. Within a week, another person who I respect said something similar…’why not do the cards digitally?’ Again...to the backburner.  
 
About 6 weeks ago, a dude I grew up with (who helped me understand the crypto space) hit me up and said ‘hey you should put your cards on rarible’. I googled it and suddenly something snapped. I swear...every single thought in my head (about The Sneaker Savant) just converged all at once. Everything made sense. 
 
I don’t know if I can put into words the knowledge I soaked up over the next few weeks - I was visibly distanced from sneaker IG - but I was seeing NFTs in my dreams. And it really gave me a clarity of direction.  
 
Y’all are gonna see NFTs in the news and you’re gonna say ‘it’s hype. this shit is dumb. it’s gonna crash’ and I’m going to be as honest as I can and say it is DEFINITELY hyped and the HYPE is dumb and something in the space is certainly going to CRASH....but what I’m trying to build has nothing to do with hype and has nothing to do with being dumb and the only way it’s going to crash is if I give up the business. Anything I do - with The Sneaker Savant - going forward - is going to be within a stone’s throw of tokenization. I’m building something...for the long haul. I’m not totally sure what its final form will be, but this answers EVERY question I’ve ever had about creative freedom and I hope I can show y’all what that means...
