For all of you thinking @virgilabloh is mailing it in with these - I think this point bears mentioning. One of the things about ‘OG’ pairs that a lot of ‘golden age’ collectors fail to mention (or simply forget) is that there are minor drawbacks with almost every pair that releases…
I always think back to the Penny II and the Flightposite 1 - the OG Penny II had an absolutely atrocious toe box and bunched up on any pair that was worn more than a handful of times. Retros fixed it.
And the OG Flightposite 1 had the thinnest sole of any performance basketball shoe I’ve ever seen. Retros fixed it.
The Jordan 2 always had a wonky toe box - IMO - and it’s dope to see someone addressed it even though I never thought anyone would.
OG is the heavy lifter - it gets the idea out there. Retros perfect the shape and the process. I’m all for it.
