I was going to start this out with an #iykyk but I feel like it’d go over a lot of peoples heads so I’ll do my best to explain.
In 1987 I was 7 years old. Also, in 1987, my cousins introduced me to baseball cards. And also in 1987, @topps printed so many copies of their baseball cards that they’re still largely worthless to this day. I remember scraping together change to buy pack after pack searching for local-ish stars and eventually buying enough packs to finish several 792-card sets.
As a kid, I thought this stuff was gonna end up making me rich. As an adult I learned about the actual economics behind the whole situation. Today I’m not sure that the money I put into those 1987 Topps cards would even get me a new pair of shoes.
I guess the question I’m really try to ask - do you feel the sneaker market is absolutely flooded right now? Or do you feel like it’s still something to chase? Is there too much or is there just enough?
