I’ve always been kinda confused about this kind of storytelling when it comes to sneaker colorways. I want to say the first time I noticed it was with that Jordan ‘sweater’ 7 or whatever the hell it’s called. Or maybe the ‘flight jacket’ 6’s. I dunno. Neither of them were all that interesting to me. But @theofficialai3 wearing a Philadelphia Eagles jersey or an Eagles colorway makes a bit more sense to me than what he wore in the tunnel on some random day…
Am I getting old or crotchety? I feel like the storytelling is just losing its edge…
It used to be that the storytelling came AFTER the actions that were performed in the shoes, as that’s when the story actually occurred. Seems like it’s the opposite now - the story precedes the shoe. Which, if we are talking about ‘legacy’, is completely reversed. How much legacy can one leave when the story is actually backloaded?
Thinking out loud here…
