I’ve heard of this happening…also kind of experienced it with my @shopify earlier last year…

A brief summary - certain companies are threatening to sue resellers who find their sneakers/clothes/etc. in thrift stores. Apparently certain brands think it’s bad for their image to have a secondary (usually discounted) sales market around their products. Some of these companies are claiming IP/trademark laws…

I’ve largely built my whole collection (of 300+ pairs of shoes) through small flips…buying something for $20 at a thrift store and selling it online for $50 or whatever…and I definitely noticed the influx of new folks to the space after the success of shows like Storage Wars and American Pickers…

It’s crazy because some people have turned thrifting and flipping into full time jobs and now these corporations are trying to take it from ‘em? I dunno man, I dunno. This is messing in some really muddy territory. What you gonna do if any of these streetwear companies start saying you can’t resell their products? 😂
