Not sure how many of you have been drooling over those LV AF1’s at Sotheby’s (s/o to @pgknows and @solesupreme giving us that up close look) but I stumbled across an article about them and my opinion on them definitely changed for the better…
I think they cool.
But.
I think a lot of shoes are cool.
But.
It’s always like a ‘who gives a sh*t’ thing because what’s the point if regular people will never get a chance to see them, let alone own them? I mean, for what they are, they might as well not even exist in reality. To use a tired metaphor… these LV AF1’s are like IG models - I never have, never will - so why give it any of my energy?
But.
I read this article the other day…and it was saying that Virgil worked with Sotheby’s on this rollout and there are actually 200 (!!!) pairs flowing through Sotheby’s. And the proceeds will be used to fund scholarships. SCHOLARSHIPS.
I mean, again, I ain’t trippin on the shoes and I’ll still probably never see a pair, and I damn sure am not paying more than a few hundred dollars for any pair of shoes whatsoever, but 200 pairs makes them *slightly* more accessible than the single size run I originally thought they’d be. And…I just think it’s great that while we got @djkhaled putting LV pillows under his feet in public (as a ‘vulgar display of power’), Virgil’s actual intent was to help students pay their way through college…
Not sure if that changes any minds, but I think that’s just dope and had to share.
Carry on.
