The other day this dude hit me in the comments and said ‘if someone hand makes customs of real released Jordan color ways, do you consider them fake or…?'
I said ‘I refer to them as customs. Not sure if it’s right or wrong but I think customs are important to the culture. Not sure I care for customs of already released shoes tho…I think customs need to reflect gaps in the market. Like things that people want but companies don’t (or won’t) make.’
And when we had a very long conversation about the topic.

I went to one of those coding bootcamps a few years back, and for our final project we had to build a working prototype of something we learned and then show it off to a group of ‘professionals’ (LOL). One dude in my class recreated a game of chess. And I thought it was dope. But then one of these professionals just ripped into him: ‘I came here to be wowed, not to see you recreate something that has already been created a million times. Where is the originality?’
---
We talked for a long time…and the questions just kept coming. It was a dope convo. And finally, I said ‘it’s funny, shoes seem so straightforward but then when you really start digging there are like some deep existentialist questions with them lol’
And I’ll be damned if that ain’t the truth.
Anything can be interesting enough if you care enough about it. ANYTHING.
No question today other than ‘what do you call handmade pairs of real released Jordan colorways? Are they fake or something else?’
