Back in the day, when I would physically *go* to work, I used to post on IG at around the same time every morning…just before my first class were to start. But once the pandemic started and I became a stay at home father of two, I’m more or less completely at the whims of these two kids…’scheduling’ things officially usually works out ok…like…if I have my mind set on something I can at least prep the kids so they are mentally there and present and able to understand what’s going on and when. But if I don’t have something scheduled out at a specific time, it becomes a bit more nebulous. And a bit harder to hone in on. So posting on IG has become somewhat difficult. Like if I’m in the middle of creating a post and one of my kids comes out and starts freaking out about waking up, it becomes a very difficult thing to manage…
I recently found out that Meta has this ‘schedule post’ thing, and it’s been a godsend for me this past month. I usually create a post a few nights (weeks) in advance, set it to drop at 7am on most mornings, and I’m usually knee deep into cracking some eggs or pouring some cereal for my kids when it gets posted.
Every once in a while, I get really productive and pre-post and schedule like 10 or more days into the future. This has become a bit of a gift (the fact that I’m able to post with regularity) and a curse (it can look like I’m super late on things - see the Moore/Kilgore post for reference).
A few weeks ago, I got really inspired and started making all these posts about John Geiger and MSCHF and Hender Scheme and Balenciaga and (he who shall not be named) and now that that I’ve finally made the time to listen to that @complexsneakers s episode with the dude from @mschf , it looks like I’m just late and riding their coattails…which…whatever. But is it possible to be so in tune with something that actually you start to see the future? Lol
