I want to say like 15 years ago I sold an OG pair of Air Raids on eBay and was STOKED that someone FINALLY bought them.
And the buyer was SO STOKED that he filmed an unboxing video and sent me a link to it on Youtube.
Being almost 100% averse to Youtube (I rarely, if ever, watch anything on Youtube), I remember thinking 'what the hell is this?'
Still...15 years later...I don't totally understand the allure of unboxing videos. I DO understand that some people get a dopamine hit from watching them, but I never found them interersting. (My dopamine hits come from finding rare sneakers in the wild IMO)
Kinda funny, but @sneakerphetish posted these pics on Twitter the other day of these 'early pair unboxing' videos of the @amamaniere x Jordan 4...and...in a quest to be the 'first youtuber with the shoe', they ignored the fact that they're not actually the shoe that's set to release.
And this is another one of those 'problems' with the 'early pairs bro' crowd...the VAST majority of the 'early pairs bro' crowd don't even know that their favorite influencers are possibly/probably dealing in fakes....
To me, none of this even matters. I don't care about these shoes at all. But I DO think it's funny when I get these guys who been around for 2 years telling me that I don't understand how the 'game' works. Yes, I am ignorant to a lot...mainly...the hype/mainstream stuff that I have no control over...but this kinda stuff is just ridiculous...
Just sayin. Carry on.
