And so you gotta ask yourself...
What is the hype all for? Is it for myself? or is it for someone else?
I get, literally, nothing from seeing the vast majority of these collections...I see no value in following what someone else thinks I should spend my time and money on.
Do you?
Do you value what you value because YOU value it? Or because someone else tells you to value it? OR do you value it because marketing and the brands tell you to value it? If no one were around, how influenced would you be?
I am influenced to buy this crap all the time, and I'm AWARE of it. What happens when you're not aware of it? What percentage of the actual marketplace of people who consider themselves 'sneakerheads' buy what they buy for themselves? And what percentage buy because someone else told them it was cool?
This is where I think age and experience matters. Most older folks have long given up the pursuit of the approval of others...where do you find yourself?
