I should have changed the image to say 'us/them' instead of 'me/you', cuz I know most of the people that are going to see this agree with me on it...
But...for those that don't...y'all know this type of stuff has been going on for years, right?
One of the first few times I went to @supremenewyork , in 2003 or 2004, I was third in line with my homie @danposite (RIP). We stood patiently giddy by the door, looking at the box logo T's in the window knowing that there were more than enough for us to cop as soon as the door opened. We'd even probably get our sizes!
I was excited. We sat there until 10am as the line got bigger and bigger and a few cars pulled up out front (illegally parked) a few minutes before 10. Finally, a Supreme employee appeared through the glass window, promptly grabbed EVERY SINGLE BOX LOGO, opened the door and handed the WHOLE STACK to one of the dudes illegally parked. He pulled a knot of bills from his pocket, handed it over, and chucked stack of bogo's into the trunk of his car, looked at us, chuckled, and drove off. We were devastated.
After that moment, I vowed to never step foot in another Supreme and I (mostly) haven't (I had to check out that one in Harajuku just because)...
When I saw these pics of whatever-goddam-retailer this was, I didn't bat an eye. This has been going on for years and it's all part of the 'game'. It's just stupid. It's funny to watch everyone all in their feelings about it knowing that I was once there, too.
At this point...if you're relying on retailers to hand over free cash, can you really be surprised that they like to get their money, too? Do the best thing you can do - take your money elsewhere!
