At a time when we're all spending ungodly amounts of money on 'just another pair', I gotta give it up for @starburymarbury and his 'Starbury' line of sneakers from the late 2000's and (apparently) up until today...
I don't know if he's still associated with the brand, but I did a little google and found that you can actually purchase the Starbury 3 (in a size 16) for $9.98 ....
In case you don't know much about the Starbury brand, after his brief time with @and1 , Steph released shoes through a New York retailer called 'Steve and Barry's' for $29.99... They weren't the most fashion forward, nor of the highest quality, but they provided an option for those that weren't too keen on dropping hundreds on a pair of Jordans. And I lived in New York at the time and I don't give a damn what anyone says...for a brief time, I saw more pairs of Starburys on the streets than I did Jordans. Fight me.
Anyway - could you imagine someone in the NBA doing this today? Or, even an 'influencer' making their shoes available to a MUCH wider audience at a VERY low price point? Good idea or bad idea?
