Trust me - I know that I can never do the 'sneaker history' of any of these shoes like the guys at @sneakerhistory or @weartesters can...the only thing I can do in this situation is take things from a more personal approach...meaning...what did these sneakers mean to me vs. what they meant to the world. So...I'm not expert on what they meant to the world, but I am an expert on what they meant to me...

I remember reading this SLAM article on @starburymarbury back in the day that showed him in his element at Lincoln High School in Coney Island. And that was the first soon-to-be-NBA Player I ever looked at and said 'Oh, he's just like a normal person who is really goddam good at basketball.' Prior to Starbury, I looked at NBA players like they were giants and superheros forged out of steel on Mt. Olympus...it never even crossed my mind that the gods of the sport were ever actually young at one point.
Kind of a strange thing to admit, but when I saw Steph and read his story, I think I finally saw the humanity behind these players...Because of that, I became a bit of a Steph stan.
