About 20 years ago, if you weren’t beastin’ over @parishilton , you were probably complaining about how famous she was for ‘nothing’…
The thing was…it was a catch-22…as most of this stuff tends to be.
Love it? You’re gonna talk about it.
Hate it? You’re gonna talk about it. And you’ll probably talk about it more than if you loved it.
And so the thing is…the more you talk about it…the more prevalent it becomes. And the more prevalent it becomes, the angrier it makes you, and the more you talk about it.
So when stuff like this pops up…an image of some guy lining up boxes of Lost & Found Jordan 1’s at Flight Club…it’s another one of those catch-22 things. The more we focus on it talk about it…as if we’ve somehow been personally ‘wronged’…the more attention it gets. And…does it change anything? Will it change anything?
It’s doubtful.
It took me WAY too long to realize, but the thing is, WE are the reason this type of stuff even exists. If we could slow down…if even for just a minute…we might realize that we are giving this stuff WAY more power and attention than it deserves.
If this stuff angers you, you might been taking this stuff too seriously.
Take a step back.
If you miss this release, you’ll be aiight, I promise.
