Truthfully...I never bought into the whole 'are NB shoes for racists' thing that occurred a few years back...I'm not totally sure of the details, but I think the CEO made some donations to the Trump campaign and there was this 'backlash' that was loud (at the time), but doesn't appear to have made an actual dent in 'the culture'.
NB has been on a hot streak or the past 18 months or so (maybe longer) and it seems no one even remembers the 'uproar' they were dealing with a few years back. Solid collaborations with @jjjjound , @salehebembury , @aimeleondore , @joefreshgoods and others seem to have brought them to a new level of 'cool' in 'the culture'...
But...it had me thinking...Kyrie, Kanye...how long before 'the culture' forgives and forgets. Is it just a few cool collaborations that'll have consumers changing their tune? Or is there more to it?
(TBH 'the culture' is such an overused and overabused word...can't we come up with something better?)
