@sneakerphetish is probably the best account on Twitter (that I've found) that is constantly discussing sneaker topics. Several times a day, too.
He posted this poll a few weeks ago and...although I didn't see the *final* results...I thought this was pretty telling. And...I did a double take. And a triple take. And it actually prompted me to start listing on eBay again (after a 2 year hiatus).
For collectors and people who actually love shoes, @goat just wins...and that probably has to do with the fact that they're almost entirely focused on shoes. The stylization of the app and the website can get a bit annoying (maybe I need glasses because the text on their site looks like it was made FOR ANTS), but they tend to put the focus on the shoes instead of all the other stuff.
@ebaysneakers has obviously turned things around. They were kind of in this no-mans land a couple of years ago when the apps debuted and they didn't really know what they needed to do to re-capture the market. Good to see sneakerheads are headed back there and I think they do have a bright future ahead of them (I still think it's the best place to sell those crazy one-offs or samples or PEs that just don't fit the 'hype' narrative). And it's the only place (of these 3) that I can currently list graded pairs.
And coming in dead last... @stockx. There's a lot I can say about this, but I'll drop just a couple of thoughts. I think if you're seeing this post, it's because you're also part of the anti-capitalist capitalist club...I think the main thing that I see with StockX is that they just seem to be more concerned with their image than they are the product...and that sucks. Their 'pricing' tool has obvioiusly shown to be extremely useful for a subset of the population, but I rarely (if ever) use their pricing tool. Stockx is almost always my last resort.
Anyone else wanna chime in on these poll results?
