This could easily be a journal entry (if I still kept a journal):
I was having a rough day the other day, and I finally decided to tackle that pair of white on white's I bought my oldest (7 y.o.)...I asked him if he wanted to paint them and he was stoked, so I grabbed the Angelus and we sat down and started on our respective pairs. I was painting some field boots, him the white on whites.
So I'm watching him as he's doing his...
Me: 'see, I told you this is hard and it's tough to make it look good.'
Him: 'It's not how it turns out that matters, it's that we're having fun doing it. It's why I like doing these things with you and I don't care how it turns out.'
Caught me right in the feels.
