I'm always a little shocked when Penny 2's drop because no one seems to care...

Throughout my whole time collecting sneakers (starting with the OG Penny II's in like 1997), Penny II's always seem to flop. I think I paid $30 for my first pair (in 1997), then maybe like $50 for my second pair (in like 2006), then maybe like $50 for my third pair (in or around 2013) and then another pair I bought for like $30 a few months ago. They *always* go on sale. I've owned...I dunno...maybe 15 pairs over my lifetime and I almost *never* wear them, so they almost *always* end up hitting my eBay. It's kind of dumb, actually. "But this time it'll be different I swear."

I do find this kind of interesting, though, that even the *collab* pairs are now hittin for below retail. And like no one is talking about them. Are there just too many collabs out there on these streets? @thesocialstatus pairs are dope, although, a bit too close to the original IMO, and the @stussy pairs make like zero sense to me and that 'faded spruce' pair is another one that I'm like 'WTF'?

But...for the question at hand...why does the Penny II pretty much *always flop?
