You already know what the red boots on the left are, but the pile on the right might be a bit more difficult to comprehend. You can probably see a fire helmet and a batman suit and maybe a cowboy jacket and a Spiderman outfit, right?
The pile on the right represents my inability to keep up with being the perfect stay-at-home-dad. Yes, I’d like to think I have my stuff together, but the fact is my failures abound…everywhere I look. But…other than what it represents, this lump is a pile of halloween clothes that have been kicking around the house for the past 3 years. No, I haven’t put them away. No, I haven’t put them in our ‘halloween decorations’ box in the garage. They’ve just been migrating from my kids’ room to the living room to the play room every few weeks. And…maybe…once every ten days…one of the kids will decide they want to dress up like a superhero for the day. And so, there we’ll be, about to eat dinner, when one of them will emerge with a goofy costume and mask and a declaration for his food to be dropped off in the ‘bat cave’.
It’s cute, really.
And so…that’s kind of where I landed with these @mschf Astroboy boots. These boots look to be the adult version of my kids’ year-round halloween costumes… Sure, someone is going to make a fashion ‘statement’ with them, and that’ll work for them for a single wear or two. But overall it’s little more than a novelty IMO. Which is fine because that’s what MSCHF does. The have pretty much perfected the art of sneakers as novelty. I agree…they look fun.
They actually look *perfect* for river walking...!
